About This Spot

Stepping into Sky High Pie in Joshua Tree feels like finding a restful pause on a dusty afternoon—warm sunlight spills through the windows, brushing softly against the wood tables and open kitchen where dough is stretched and topped with thoughtful care. The atmosphere is casual yet lively, filled with the gentle hum of friendly chatter and the comforting aroma of baking bread and melting cheese. It’s exactly the kind of place where time slows just enough to savor good company and better food.

This is a local haven that thrives on simplicity done well, where the menu invites curiosity without overwhelming. Here, pizza isn’t just a dish; it’s a canvas for seasonal and unexpected ingredients, from earthy truffle cream and tender lobster langostino to lively Korean BBQ pork belly. The crust draws quiet admiration: beautifully crisp at the edges yet yielding in the center, carrying each topping with a satisfying bite. Beyond pizza, the kitchen’s love spills over into freshly baked scones and creamy, cool treats that make dessert linger in your thoughts long after leaving the table.

Patrons often settle in with a mix of regular favorites and new discoveries, savoring the unhurried pace and friendly service that makes each visit feel familiar and special. The spirited yet unpretentious vibe draws a mix of locals and travelers alike, all greeted by the welcoming staff behind the counter and the promise of something genuine in every flavor. Whether sharing a plate of cheesy garlic bread or pausing over a thoughtfully poured cider, the moments here feel quietly joyful and grounded in the simple pleasure of breaking bread together.

Sky High Pie is hands-down one of the best gems in town! The pizzas are incredible—flavorful, perfectly baked, and always fresh. I’m also obsessed with their meatballs and beef skewers, which are packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on dessert… the triple berry scones are heavenly, and the soft serve is honestly my favorite treat. Everything here is handmade, and you can taste the love and care in every bite. What makes this place extra special is the service. Chris is amazing—attentive, sweet, and always friendly. He listens, brings the food right to me with napkins and utensils ready, and makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. It’s rare to find customer service like that, and it really makes Sky High Pie stand out. I’m a local, and honestly, I don’t frequent many restaurants around here—but this spot is the exception. I come back at least once a week, and it never disappoints. If you’re in town, do yourself a favor and stop by. Sky High Pie is a Joshua Tree treasure!

Pizza are fresh, hawaiian and chicken caesar salad, also good. Cannolis are next-level good. Beers on tap. Crowded on a Friday night. Apple pie is small, but good.

Me and my family (party of 4) loved the pizzas from this place. The service was very nice and friendly. We got the margarita pizza, chicken pesto pizza, and the truffle cream prosciutto. We also added some Tiramisu to the order. All 3 pizzas were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The tiramisu was not good at all. tThey had added cinnamon to it for some reason and that made it taste bad. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to someone.

We had regular pizza, a gluten-free pizza, Greek salad, and tiramisu. My husband raved about the crust on the regular pizza. I enjoyed the gluten-free crust, but wish the flavors were a little more pronounced. The Greek salad was amazing and my family raved about the tiramisu. Great vibe. Friendly staff.

Bold flavors, crispy crust, and so satisfying Sky High Pie serves seriously good pizza with a thick, crispy crust and rich, flavorful toppings. The dough is perfectly baked—crispy on the outside, soft inside—and every bite feels indulgent. Great spot for pizza lovers looking for something a little different and memorable. Simple menu, big flavor.

6 out of 5 stars. Absolutely recommend. Go there now. Their pesto is amazing. Our first visit there we ordered the pesto gnocchi and the margarita pizza. Today we order their caprese salad and the chicken pesto pizza. Not sure how we’re going to top that but we will definitely be trying more. Fresh toppings and a great staff. This is really a worthy stop especially because a lot of other places in Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms are mid (most places seem to know there’s not a lot of competition and just don’t work that hard to impress) Sky High Pie could hold competition in a larger city and would truly hold their own. Hands down our new post hike lunch spot. Like I said, go there now.

NY boy approved! Wow, the Smokey sauce, the crunchy yet chewy crust, and ricotta in the desert? Nough said, fam! The beer selection was ace as well! 10/10 The kids got to make their own pizzas, it was a real hit! Pepperoni and olives for life

Loved this place- their Lobster bisque soup was perfect- with good number of lobster pieces! The Veggie Park was the most unique pizza we’ve had- it was delicious- with the perfect balance and combination of the sauces- white and pesto, yummiest blend of sun-dried tomatoes and all other veggies- in a yum veggie park ! My son loved his Aloha pizza too. The staff was good and the place was efficient! (Forgot to take pics, here’s one that my son took of his pizza- the Aloha Pizza) - Party of 4 at table 22.
